Lecture 1
Antarctica
– in search of the Emperors

  emperors

Antarctica is quite simply a photographer’s dream. The presentation chronicles an expedition with a group of naturalists in search of the Emperor penguins and their chicks.

Starting in the Falkland Island and calling at South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. On reaching the ice shelf we began our search by walking in temperatures of -25C. Sometime later, we discovered a healthy colony of penguins and their families. But we discover that other colonies were not so fortunate.

This is a story of the joys and perils of parenthood in one of the harshest, and yet most beautiful and unspoiled environments in the world.
